First Aid – Stopped Breathing<=

First Aid – Heart Attack
Get medical help immediately. Have the person lie
down. Treat for shock. Know the signs of a heart

most often pain lasts for more than a few minutes, but may
come and go; pressure, squeezing; Upper body R=

pain or numbness in one or both arms, neck, jaw, or back;
Shortness of breath – may occur with or without
chest discomfort; Nausea; Sweating.
First Aid – Severe Burns
Do not apply ointments or lotions. For minor =
burns
cold water is best to relieve pain. If the burn is severe – it
covers a large area, blisters appear, skin is removed, =
or
the skin has a white or gray appearance – get medic=
al
attention. Do =
not
cover the burns but make every effort to keep the area clean. Treat for shock.
First Aid – Eye Injury
If the person can open the eye, flush the eye with clean
water. If an object is in th=
e eye,
opening the eye may cause further damage. When giving first aid for eye
injuries cover both eyes and get medical help. Treat for shock.

injured persons for shock.
Be
aware of others who witness the event as they may also suffer fr=

shock. A person who is disoriented
from shock may injure themselves further. Have the person lie down and rais=
e their
feet slightly. If it is cool=

When the emergency is over, make notes about the <=

accident.
Have each person who witnessed the accident do the same. Don’t share notes. Write only what you saw and heard and what you did in response. <=
